Virginia's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,868,093.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,951,518.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Virginia infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Continued support of the New Parent Toolkits, developed as part of the Governor's Education for a Lifetime Initiative.
- Continued support of the Warm Line (1-800-TLD-KIDS) for parents and child care providers.
- Grants to build capacity and quality of programs serving infants and toddlers.
- An infant/toddler endorsement program for child care teachers working with infants and toddlers.
- Read-a-Book program − designed to assist teachers of infants and toddlers.
- Development of a statewide program for infant/toddler consultants.
