Utah's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,102,094.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,095,408.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Utah infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Continued support of the Forty (40) hours of specialized training offered through the CCR&R system that results in the Infant Toddler Endorsement (part of the Early Childhood Career Ladder).
- Continued support of Baby Steps Quality Improvement Project.
- Continued support of Specialty Grants (outdoor play area or plumbing grants), to improve the physical environment of infant/toddler settings by providing safe and stimulating outdoor environments and the hand washing sinks required by state licensing rules in infant/toddler classrooms.
- Continued support of Quality Improvement Grants , available three (3) times a year to licensed center and family care providers.
- Continued support of Family Child Care start-up grants to encourage recruitment of infant and toddler care providers.
- Infant/Toddler Specialists Network.
