Texas's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:

FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $10,678,924.

FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $10,336,346.

In Texas, the Workforce Commission contracts with each of the state's 28 Local Workforce Development Boards (Boards) to administer child care services. The Boards competitively procure child care contractors to deliver these services. In addition to providing child care services, contractors may also be responsible for the implementation of activities to improve the accessibility, availability and quality of infant and toddler care.

  • TEEM Language and Literacy Curriculum− a language and literacy development training program for center and home based child care providers, currently being piloted in several sites across the state.
  • I/T Incentives− cash incentives and scholarships to increase the availability of early learning resources for Infant/Toddler child care providers.
