South Dakota's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $265,377.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $280,509.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the South Dakota infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Infant Toddler Training Program, a training delivery system that uses WestEd certified trainers to deliver training statewide. This initiative includes a mini-grant for regulated caregivers that complete the training.
- Infant/Toddler Program Improvement Plan.
- Parent Infant Welcome Box and Responsive Parenting Training , as part of the Bright Start initiative.
- Stipends as incentives for centers and family day care providers who complete the ITERS or FDCRS.
- Infant/Toddler Certificate.
- Fatherhood Initiative.
