Rhode Island's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $259,080.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $284,681.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Rhode Island infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Rhode Island Child Care Facilities Fund, which gives priority to projects specifically expanding infant and toddler capacity and improving infant and toddler spaces.
- CHILDSPAN (RI's Child Development and Education Training System) activities targeted to infant toddler caregivers, including an Infant-Toddler Action Team , and Infant-Toddler Academy and CDA training and scholarships for providers.
- Child Care Support Network, which provides on-site technical assistance to center based programs and family child care (FCC) homes serving children birth to age eight.
