Oregon's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,086,872.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,093,718.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Oregon infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Continued support of the First by Five Infant and Toddler Training, offered through the CCR&R Network to increase supply of hard-to-find care.
- Continued support of the Oregon Statewide Mentoring Program to strengthen the infrastructure of support to providers caring for infants and toddlers.
- Continued support of the Supportive and refresher training services to trainers of the First-by-Five training, including an Early Brain curriculum that is also offered to providers (now offered through Portland State University's for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education).
- Continuation of support activities implemented by Oregon Commission on Children and Families, who fund strategies such as scholarships and materials for child care training.
- Continuation of activities related to licensing and registration of providers caring for infants and toddlers.
