Oklahoma's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,524,940.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,530,493.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Oklahoma infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Continued support of the development early learning guidelines for infants and toddlers.
- Continued support of funding for infant toddler training through the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development.
- Continued support of funding for the Infant/Toddler Coordinator in the Oklahoma Child Care Resource and Referral agencies office to provide technical assistance and training to child care providers caring for children 0-3 and place specialists in two metro agencies.
- Continuation of the Better Baby Care Campaign (in collaboration with several other agencies and organizations).
- Continued funding to support the capture and evaluation of data on the supply and demand of infant and toddler care.
- Continued funding support to provide trained consultants (through the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development) to administer the ITERS in child care facilities.
- Continued funding support to continue updating materials on SIDS and the Back to Sleep Campaign to all licensees (0-24 months).
- Continued funding support for distribution of a video on infant and toddler developmental stages, which includes age appropriate activities, to all infant and toddler caregivers.
