North Carolina's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $3,248,534.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $3,187,075.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the North Carolina infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Continued support of Statewide Infant/Toddler Enhancement Project (Infant/Toddler Specialists).
- Continued support of T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® scholarships for providers of infant and toddler child care.
- Continued support of Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) Assessments.
- Continued support of the child care health consultation system (specifically in the upcoming year, to conclude CCDF-funded efforts to create a statewide infrastructure of child care health consultants).
- Continued support of T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Health Insurance.
- Continued support of the Infant-Toddler Safe Sleep and SIDS Risk Reduction (ITS-SIDS) Training project.
