Minnesota's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:

FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,252,917.

FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,264,191.

According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Minnesota infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):

  • Continued support of Regional grants to centers and family child care providers of infant and toddler care. Training requirements are tied to grant awards, including opportunities to participate in the Infant and Toddler Training Intensive.
  • Continued support T.E.A.C.H. Minnesota, which provides scholarships for infant and toddler caregivers
  • Continued support of R.E.E.T.A.I.N., a workforce retention program that offers grants to providers based on their education and commitment to staying in their position for at least one year.
  • Continued support of the development and implementation of a plan to effectively coordinate and deliver Infant and Toddler Training Intensive training so that it retains its integrity while being comprehensively integrated into the overall professional development system.
  • Development of Infant/Toddler Core Knowledge and Competencies.
