Michigan's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:

FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $2,751,275.

FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $2,877,123.

According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Michigan infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may have been used to support these activities):

  • Child Care Health Consultants provide consulting, technical assistance and training to promote community collaboration intended to improve health and safety in child care.
  • Public health and mental health consultation services to enrolled licensed/registered child care providers, including the Child Care Expulsion Prevention Program, through the Department of Community Health.
  • Infant and Toddler Incentive Payments paid to approved child care and family group homes caring for children under age 2 once they have completed at least 15 hours of child care training.
