Massachusetts's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:

FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $1,208,729.

FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $1,255,035.

According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways ways to enhance the Massachusetts infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may have been used to support these activities):

  • EEC through the Massachusetts Family Network (MFN) provides g rant funding to local communities to provide a variety of services and supports for parent with children ages birth to three.
  • Regional Consultation Programs (RCPs) in collaboration with the Department of Public Health's Early Intervention Program− exist across Massachusetts to support infants and toddlers with disabilities and those who care for them in child care programs.
  • The Lead Agency purchases approximately 536 child care slots through forty contracts for the children of teen parents. The program emphasizes child care for infants and toddlers.
  • A rate increase linked to the achievement of specific quality standards, with an emphasis on literacy, professional development, and self assessment using the Environmental Rating scales, including the ITERS and FDCRS for all contracted ECE providers who participate in the quality enhancement program.
