Iowa's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:

FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $879,601.

FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $892,704.

According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Iowa infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):

  • Iowa Program for Infant & Toddler Caregivers (IA PITC), which includes:
    • statewide delivery of PITC module training to providers and a bonus of $250 for those who Modules I-IV of the training, and an additional $50.00 for those who attend Module V.
    • state administration and management of the PITC effort (State Coordinator).
  • Regional Infant and Toddler Specialists− located in the five CC&R offices, which coordinate free, community-based training across the state.
  • T.E.A.C.H.-funding is directed to the Iowa Association for the Education of Young Children to support scholarships and compensation for child care staff/providers.
