Indiana's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $2,023,774.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $2,028,975.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Indiana's infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Better Baby Care, a series of trainings that include West Ed modules, as well as the Better Baby Care Curriculum, provided by the Indiana Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies.
- Infant Toddler Mentoring Project (provided by the Indiana Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies), which is attached to the Better Baby Care and allows providers to review their practices and child care settings utilizing the ITERS.
- Infant/Toddler Specialists Network of Indiana (a PD network supported by the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children).
- Enhanced referrals for families of infants and toddlers to provide consumer education and extra help in locating appropriate care.
