Florida's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Fund:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $5,405,728.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $5,627,128.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Florida infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Teenage Parent Programs.
- Gold Seal Quality Care Program, which provides a higher rate for programs or providers who are accredited by one of the Gold Seal Program's approved accrediting agencies.
- Continued support of activities implemented by local early learning coalitions.
- Continued support of technical assistance and mini-grants to support ITERS assessments and quality improvements.
- provides support for quality and availability enhancement through Florida's Statewide Quality Initiative and partnerships with other state agencies and organizations.
- Through the Quality Initiative and the Florida State University for Prevention and Early Intervention an Infant/Toddler early learning coalition staffing needs assessment will be conducted and based on the results of the training and technical assistance will be provided to the early learning coalition staff across the state.
- The Center for Prevention and Early Intervention Policy will provide leadership to develop a voluntary Infant/Toddler network to provide training, technical assistance, and resources to the Infant/Toddler community of learners through meetings, trainings, teleconferencing, and listservs. The trainings provided will include Birth-three learning and developmental standards training, the ten components of quality, and the Mind in the Making series of trainings.
