Alaska's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Targeted Funds:
FY: 2008: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation is $195,587.
FY: 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Targeted Funds allocation was $197,539.
According to the 2007-2009 CCDF State Plans, the funds are used in the following ways to enhance Alaska’s infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Recruit and retain qualified infant/toddler providers with financial stipends through the Alaska System of Early Education Development (SEED).
- To educate and engage business and community partners to support working parents, particularly families with infants and toddlers.
- To provide specialized training to increase the ability of programs to offer safe, healthy care that meets the developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
- To implement regional projects based on the unique needs of infants and toddlers.
- First Steps Mentoring Program.
- Infant/Toddler Quality Enrichment Project.
- Partnering with Parents training offered by ZERO TO THREE.
